Are online casinos legal in China?

The legal position in mainland China

What residents should know
Because there is no licensed domestic option, there is no safe or legal way to play online casino games from within mainland China. Note that Hong Kong and Macau are separate jurisdictions with their own rules, Macau in particular is a major regulated land-based casino hub, so guidance for those regions does not apply to the mainland. Anyone who gambles online from China should understand the following:
