Starting in June 2026, the Puerto Rico Gaming Commission will join the U.S. National Voluntary Self-Exclusion Program, known as NVSEP, giving players on the island access to a centralized registry for the first time. His company’s role is to handle the technical side of data processing and make the exclusion pipeline work smoothly for both players and operators.

Juan Carlos Santaella Marchán, the Executive Director of the Puerto Rico Gaming Commission, framed the decision as part of a broader responsible gambling agenda the commission has been building. He said the partnership strengthens public policy efforts to maintain a safe and regulated environment, and that it aligns with the educational campaign on responsible gambling the commission has run since his tenure began. The commission intends to continue that campaign as the program goes live, with the aim of making sure players know the option exists and how to use it.

Puerto Rico’s Expanding Market
