ePay Casinos

ePay.bg is the online payment system many Bulgarians use to pay bills and shop online with a local debit card or a balance held in their ePay account. Some casinos and e-wallets accept it as a way to move money in.

It is very much a Bulgarian tool. It works with cards issued in Bulgaria and with a so called micro account inside ePay, and it rarely appears outside casinos and wallets that serve Bulgarian players.

Below are the casinos tagged with ePay, followed by how it works, what changed when Bulgaria joined the eurozone, and how to handle withdrawals.

Can you use ePay at online casinos?

Yes, at some casinos that serve Bulgarian players, and indirectly through e-wallets such as Skrill, which accept ePay as a top up method in Bulgaria. You pay through ePay.bg with a Bulgarian debit card or your ePay micro account balance. Whether winnings can come back the same way depends on the casino, so check the withdrawal options before you deposit.

A Payment System Built for Bulgaria

ePay.bg describes itself as Bulgaria’s leading online payment system, and for everyday payments it plays a role similar to what bank buttons do elsewhere in Europe. You register, link your Bulgarian debit card, and you can pay online merchants without typing card details into each site.

Because it is linked to the Bulgarian card network, it fits naturally into the way people in the country already bank, and many local merchants show the ePay button next to card payments at checkout.

Alongside cards, ePay offers a micro account, a balance you top up and spend from. For players that is useful, because it creates a small pot of money set aside for online payments, separate from the main account.

Paying a Casino Through ePay

Directly in a cashier

Where a casino supports it, you choose ePay, are sent to ePay.bg to log in and confirm, and return to the casino with your balance topped up.

Through a wallet

More often, players use ePay to load an e-wallet such as Skrill, then use that wallet at the casino. Skrill’s own help pages list ePay as a deposit option in Bulgaria.

What Joining the Eurozone Changed

Bulgaria joined the eurozone on 1 January 2026. Before that, ePay payments were made in leva, and casino accounts in EUR meant a currency conversion somewhere along the way.

With the switch, a Bulgarian player paying a casino that runs accounts in EUR no longer needs that conversion step. Prices, limits and fees are now quoted in the same currency on both sides, which makes it far easier to see what a deposit actually costs. If you still hold an old balance or statement in leva, keep in mind that older amounts may look different from what you see today.

Getting Winnings Back

Payouts are where ePay is less predictable.

Same route or not

Some casinos and wallets can send money back through the same route, while others pay winnings by bank transfer or to a wallet in your name.

Plan ahead

Check the withdrawal page before your first deposit, and finish the casino’s identity checks early. If you funded the account through Skrill, the casino will usually pay back to Skrill, and you can move the money from there to your bank.

Getting Set Up

  • Register on ePay.bg with the same name you use at the casino or wallet.
  • Link a Bulgarian debit card or top up the micro account in advance.
  • Avoid VPNs and proxies when paying, since wallet providers warn that they can delay or block the transfer.

Licensed Play in Bulgaria

Online gambling in Bulgaria is licensed, and the National Revenue Agency enforces the rules. Local payment systems like ePay are mainly offered by operators with a Bulgarian licence, which brings identity checks, responsible gambling tools and a regulator you can complain to.

Since May 2024 Bulgaria has also banned most gambling advertising. If you see aggressive promotions pushing ePay deposits at a site you do not recognise, that is a reason to look more closely at who runs it.

Where ePay Fits Among Bulgarian Options

Method How you pay Good for
ePay.bg Bulgarian card or micro account, online Everyday online deposits
EasyPay Cash at a counter with a code Players who prefer cash
A1 phone payment Charged to your mobile account Very small deposits

Should You Use ePay?

If you already pay bills through ePay.bg, using it for casino deposits is a natural step, either directly or by loading a wallet. Joining the eurozone has made it simpler than before. Just treat the withdrawal side as a separate question, choose a casino licensed in Bulgaria, and set your deposit limits on day one.

If you mostly play at international sites rather than Bulgarian ones, loading a wallet through ePay is usually the more flexible route, since the wallet can then pay out and be used at many more casinos.
