Entercash Casinos

Entercash was a direct bank payment provider that many Nordic and European casino players used without ever thinking much about the name. You picked your bank, logged in, approved the payment and played.

The brand is gone now. Trustly bought Entercash at the start of 2019 and planned to fold it into the Trustly brand, which today handles the same kind of payments at a much larger scale.

Below are the casinos that were tagged with Entercash, followed by how it worked, what the takeover changed and what you would use instead today.

Can you still use Entercash at online casinos?

Not under that name. Entercash was a Malta based provider of direct bank payments that Trustly acquired in early 2019, with the plan to integrate it under the Trustly brand. Casinos that still show an Entercash logo are out of date. Players who liked it usually use Trustly or another pay by bank service today.

A Bank Payment Specialist Based in Malta

Entercash built its business on account to account payments for online merchants, with e-commerce, travel, financial services and online betting among its customers. Instead of entering card details, a player chose their bank from a list and approved the payment in their own online banking.

For casinos, the attraction was the same as for any bank payment: no card data to store, fewer chargebacks and a confirmed payment within moments. For players it removed the step of finding a card, and kept card statements free of gambling transactions.

It was strongest in a handful of European markets, including parts of the Nordics, which made it a familiar sight in cashiers aimed at Finnish and Swedish players before the big licensing changes of recent years.

How an Entercash Deposit Went

Choosing your bank

In the casino cashier you selected Entercash or a bank payment option, entered the amount and picked your bank from the list.

Approving it

You identified yourself with your usual banking credentials, approved the transfer, and the casino was told straight away that the payment was on its way. Many casinos could also send winnings back to the same account.

Trustly Buys a Rival

In January 2019 Trustly announced that it had bought Entercash, a competitor it had been running into for the same customers. Trustly said Entercash was strong in some geographic markets where Trustly itself had been weaker, and that demand for account to account payments was growing fast across Europe.

Entercash had been valued at around 340 million Swedish kronor in a shareholder valuation in late 2018, according to Swedish financial press, although the purchase price itself was not officially disclosed.

The plan was to bring Entercash under the Trustly brand. For casino players that meant the Entercash name gradually disappeared from cashiers while the underlying idea, paying straight from your bank, carried on.

What an Entercash Logo Means Today

  • The casino’s payment icons have not been updated since before 2019.
  • The same bank payment is probably now offered as Trustly or another pay by bank option.
  • Older review pages, ours included, carried Entercash tags from its active years.

From Bank Payments to Pay N Play

Direct bank payments did more than replace cards. In the Nordics they turned into Pay N Play, where your bank login handles registration, identity checks and the first deposit in one go. Trustly made that model famous, and it is now standard at many licensed casinos for Swedish and Finnish players.

If you liked Entercash because it was quick and kept your card out of it, Pay N Play is the natural next step. Just make sure the casino is licensed for your country, since Pay N Play sites lean heavily on the bank identity check.

Where the Same Idea Lives Now

Option How you pay Typical markets
Trustly Bank login, direct payment Large parts of Europe
Zimpler and Brite Bank login, direct payment Nordics and other European markets
Local instant banking Bank app or online banking Depends on the country

What to Check Before You Deposit

Bank payments are only as good as the casino at the other end.

Licence first

Check the licence in the footer and make sure it covers players from your country.

Payout route

Confirm that the casino pays winnings back to your bank through the same provider, not only by slow manual transfer.

The Short Answer

You cannot pay with Entercash any more, but you have not lost anything. The way it worked lives on in Trustly and other pay by bank services, which are faster and more widely accepted than Entercash ever was. Pick one that your bank supports, choose a properly licensed casino, and set a deposit limit when you sign up.

One practical tip carries over from the Entercash days: use the same bank account for deposits and withdrawals. It keeps verification simple and means winnings come back to an account the casino has already matched to your name.
