Mention Novomatic to anyone who grew up around German or Austrian slot halls and two words usually come straight back: Book of Ra. The Austrian group has been building gaming machines since 1980, and the online games you find at Novomatic casinos today, made by its digital arm Greentube, still lean proudly on those land based classics.
This page lists the open casinos in our database that carry Novomatic games, and explains how the group, Greentube and the famous Deluxe slots fit together, plus what to check before you play.
Reviewed byFred AndersonWho makes Novomatic games online?
Novomatic's online games come from Greentube, the group's digital division in Vienna, which has been part of Novomatic since 2010. Greentube holds a UK Gambling Commission software licence and a Malta Gaming Authority licence, and it is behind the online versions of classics like Book of Ra Deluxe, Sizzling Hot Deluxe and Lucky Lady's Charm Deluxe, plus newer series such as Diamond Link.
Novomatic was founded in 1980 by Johann Graf, who is still listed as its owner, and the group is headquartered in Gumpoldskirchen, a small town in Lower Austria. It has grown into one of the biggest names in gaming, with around 26,000 employees, subsidiaries in 50 countries and exports to about 130, by its own figures.
For online players, though, the company that matters is Greentube. It started out in 1998, joined the Novomatic Group in 2010 and is now the group’s digital gaming division, registered in Vienna with offices stretching from Las Vegas to Malta. Greentube first took the slots that filled Novomatic cabinets and rebuilt them for desktop and mobile, then began making original games on top.
That history explains the feel of the catalogue. Many of the best known Novomatic games started life in arcades, so they are quick, simple and built around one strong feature instead of a pile of modifiers. You either love that or you find it old fashioned. I lean towards love.

Greentube puts four names at the top of its own games page: Book of Ra deluxe, Lucky Lady’s Charm deluxe, Reel King and Sizzling Hot deluxe. Three of them show the old Novomatic recipe from different angles.
The idea is beautifully simple. During the free spins, one randomly chosen symbol expands to fill whole reels, and a screen full of explorers is what every Book of Ra fan is quietly hoping for. There is also a gamble feature for doubling a win, a Novomatic habit that turns up in Sizzling Hot, Lucky Lady’s Charm and Lord of the Ocean too. SlotCatalog lists the game on 5 reels and 10 lines with high volatility.
No wilds, no free spins, no bonus round. Sizzling Hot Deluxe is five lines of fruit, a star scatter and the gamble button. It sounds thin on paper, but it is a slot with nothing to hide behind, and that is exactly its charm.

Lucky Lady’s Charm Deluxe keeps the 10 line layout and adds a multiplier to its free spins, which gives the bonus a different rhythm from Book of Ra. SlotCatalog rates it high volatility as well, so expect long quiet stretches between the good moments.
Here is the part a lot of Novomatic fans never look at. The classic slots sit below the 96% many players use as a benchmark, and some of them exist in more than one RTP version, so the same game can pay back differently at two Novomatic casinos. These are the figures SlotCatalog lists:
| Game | Layout | RTP listed by SlotCatalog |
|---|---|---|
| Book of Ra Deluxe | 5 reels, 10 lines | 95.1% |
| Sizzling Hot Deluxe | 5 reels, 5 lines | 95.66%, with lower versions of 92.28% and 90.02% noted |
| Lucky Lady’s Charm Deluxe | 5 reels, 10 lines | 95.13% |
| Lord of the Ocean | 5 reels, 10 lines | 95.1%, with an RTP range available |
| Diamond Link: Mighty Elephant | 5 reels, 25 lines | 95% |
The gap between 95.66% and 90.02% looks small, but on average it means more than EUR 5 extra lost for every EUR 100 you wager. Open the paytable or info screen before you spin, and if the figure is not shown, ask support which version the casino runs.
It would be unfair to treat Novomatic as a museum next to the younger studios in our game provider index. Greentube keeps releasing games, and the newer ones are organised in series that share features and jackpots across many titles.

Diamond Link is the series you are most likely to bump into. Diamond Link: Mighty Elephant, from 2019, plays on 5 reels and 25 lines with a Hold and Win style bonus and four jackpots, two of them progressive according to SlotCatalog. Cash Connection takes a similar jackpot idea and attaches it to old favourites, in versions like Cash Connection Book of Ra and Cash Connection Golden Sizzling Hot. Win Ways and Diamond Mystery are two more series on Greentube’s site, and recent releases include Piggy Prizes Ghost of Gambini.
Outside slots, Greentube also makes table games, video poker and video bingo. What we could not find is a live dealer studio. As far as we can see, the online catalogue is RNG games only, so Novomatic casinos with a live casino get those tables from other studios.
Because the online games come from Greentube, that is where the licences sit. Greentube’s own site lists two:
The content has also followed new regulated markets. After Germany’s new online gambling rules took effect in July 2021, the local operator Novoline took more than 165 Novomatic games live that October, and bet365 Slots added Book of Ra Deluxe, Lucky Lady’s Charm Deluxe and Lord of the Ocean for German players in July 2025. By then Greentube had also launched in Ontario, Pennsylvania and Delaware, and in South Africa through Supabets.
A Novomatic slot is the same game in every licensed lobby, but at Novomatic casinos the rules around it, from stake limits to which features are switched on, are set by your local regulator.
The list at the top of this page shows the open Novomatic casinos in our database, every one with the group’s games in the lobby. Closed and blacklisted casinos are left out.
Start with the licence. The casino has to be licensed in the country where you live. If it is not, walk away, no matter how many Book of Ra versions it lists.
Then the money side. Read the withdrawal terms, the limits and the processing times before you deposit, not after a win.
Then the RTP. This matters more at Novomatic casinos than elsewhere, because of the versions in the table above. Compare the info screen with those figures.
Finally, the bonus. Classic high volatility slots can turn up on bonus exclusion lists or count at a lower rate, so read the terms before you spend bonus money on Book of Ra.

Not quite. Novomatic is the Austrian parent group, founded in 1980. Greentube is its digital division, which joined the group in 2010 and makes the online versions of Novomatic games as well as new titles of its own.
Its online games come through Greentube, which holds a UK Gambling Commission Remote Gambling Software licence (account 41020) and a Malta Gaming Authority licence for Type 1 Gaming Services. Novomatic casinos still need their own licence where you live.
SlotCatalog lists 95.1%. Novomatic classics can run in different RTP versions across casinos, so check the info screen at your casino to see the figure that applies to you.
We could not find any. Greentube lists slots, table games, video poker and video bingo, all of them RNG games.
Book of Ra Deluxe, Sizzling Hot Deluxe and Lucky Lady’s Charm Deluxe are the names Greentube itself leads with, and Lord of the Ocean and Dolphin’s Pearl Deluxe come from the same era. The Diamond Link and Cash Connection series carry that style into newer jackpot formats.
Novomatic was founded by Johann Graf, who is still listed as the owner. The group is headquartered in Gumpoldskirchen in Lower Austria.
