What is Stakelogic known for?
Stakelogic is a Dutch casino content studio, registered in Eindhoven and owned by Sega Sammy Creation since April 2025. It is best known for its Super Stake side bet, retro fruit slots and Megaways titles such as Runner Runner Megaways, and for Stakelogic Live, its live casino arm with roulette, blackjack and game shows like Super Stake Roulette 5000x.
If one idea sums up Stakelogic, it is Super Stake, and it is the button most players notice first at Stakelogic casinos. The studio launched it in February 2020, and the idea is simple: you add a side bet equal to your stake, so a €1 spin costs €2, and in return the bonus features come around more often.
What the extra money buys changes from slot to slot. In The Expendables Megaways, one of the first four games to carry it, a Super Stake trigger either dropped 175 wilds across all five reels or stripped the royal symbols off the reels. Later in 2020 came Mega Super Stake, where every spin costs 2.5 times the base bet, first seen in Lion Gold.
My honest view: Super Stake is a volatility dial, not a shortcut. It doubles what you spend per spin, so it also doubles how fast a budget disappears. Switch it on when you want more action, off when you just want to spin.
Stakelogic has changed hands twice since it was founded.
Greentube, the online arm of the Novomatic group, set Stakelogic up in early 2015. In 2018 it sold the studio to a financial investor, and Stephan van den Oetelaar took over as CEO. From then on Stakelogic ran as an independent Dutch company, registered in Eindhoven.
In July 2024 the Japanese group Sega Sammy announced that its subsidiary Sega Sammy Creation would buy Stakelogic B.V., and the deal closed on 28 April 2025 at about €125 million. The stated aim was a stronger online gambling business, in the US in particular. In its May 2026 results, the group booked impairment losses on Stakelogic and said it plans to downsize the studio’s operations in the Netherlands. It is too early to say what that means for the games at Stakelogic casinos.
Stakelogic moved into live casino in June 2021, when it unveiled a studio in Birkirkara, Malta, with 22 tables at launch. Blackjack, roulette and several game shows made up the first line up.
The live side borrowed the slot side’s best known trick. Super Stake Roulette 5000x, the first game show from Stakelogic Live, lets you raise your straight up bets by 50% for a better shot at the bonus features. Random silver numbers carry multipliers up to 750x, gold numbers up to 1,000x, and the Money Wheel bonus goes up to 5,000x your straight up bet.
Since then the studio has added Super Wheel, a money wheel game show with five bonus rounds, and Vegas Drops Roulette, which started life as a four week Unibet exclusive. Blackjack, roulette and auto roulette tables sit alongside them, and in May 2026 Stakelogic Live went live with Hollywoodbets in the UK through Relax Gaming’s aggregation platform.
Worth knowing: a straight up win in the roulette game show pays 29 to 1, not the 35 to 1 of a classic table. That gap pays for the multipliers, and the big ones are rare by design.
Stakelogic’s slots have a retro streak that suits its Dutch home market. Hold4Timer, released in February 2022, was built specifically for Dutch players, because classic slots are hugely popular there, as the studio put it. It is a low volatility fruit game that lets you switch between three and six reels.
Star Staxx, from January 2023, keeps the fruit and stars but adds a Prize Reel above a 5×3 grid. Land the right symbols and that reel can hand out cash multipliers from 1x to 7,500x, while the 20 lines pay both ways.
Then there are the louder games. Runner Runner Megaways puts a fruit machine look on Big Time Gaming’s Megaways engine, with six reels, up to 117,649 ways, cascading wins and Super Stake on top. Book of Adventure, from 2018, is the studio’s take on the Egyptian book slot: 5 reels, 10 fixed lines and high volatility. The newer releases lean on hold and win mechanics, Jaws of Fortune among them, a shark themed game with 1,024 ways on a 5×4 grid. And the shelf keeps moving: the homepage currently pushes Sunken City Riches, Throne of Flame and Penguin Payday.
Stakelogic works through several companies, and each one holds its own paperwork. These are the licences the studio lists on its website, with the first row checked against the UK Gambling Commission’s public register:

The website also shows the marks of regulators in Denmark, Sweden, Greece, Romania, Ukraine, Ontario, Michigan and Pennsylvania, plus ISO 27001, but without licence details, so we have kept them out of the table. On distribution, Stakelogic signed a Powered By deal with Relax Gaming in 2018, which lets casinos on the Relax platform add Stakelogic slots, and Relax still carries its live content. Its Greenlogic programme, launched in 2020, lets outside studios build games that Stakelogic certifies and sells, with the partner’s name next to the Stakelogic brand.
