Thunderstruck is the series that defines Stormcraft Studios today. The name comes from Microgaming’s back catalogue, and Stormcraft is the team that carried Thor into the 2020s, each time with a different engine under the hood.

The public launch came two years later. In June 2018 Microgaming announced Stormcraft as an independent studio making games exclusively for Microgaming and its operators, with a team that had worked on Mega Moolah and Immortal Romance. Igesund was creative director then and is founder and executive producer today. The first release was Fortunium, a steampunk slot with 40 paylines, out on 20 June 2018.
The exclusive model never changed. Stormcraft now releases through Games Global, and the 2024 Immortal Romance II announcement called it an exclusive partner. Igesund has also said that around 87% of players are on mobile, which is why the studio moved to designing for portrait play.
